After a fantastic wedding season and a bit of relaxation over the holidays (three cheers for eggnog!), I’m eager to showcase some of the weddings I photographed this past year. In no particular order, I’m starting with Vanessa and Daniel (I just finished designing their album and all their images were fresh in my mind!). I met Vanessa and Daniel over a year ago during their engagement shoot and after their session, I was very excited to travel to St. Mary’s to photograph their wedding day. This wedding was definitely a family affair and upon meeting everyone, I realized that Vanessa’s vibrant personality was definitely a family and friend trait (and perhaps extends to the entire community of St. Mary’s). Thank you to Vanessa and Daniel for inviting me to document your day – I’ll be seeing you both soon.
Vendors who made the day possible and beautiful: Decoration – Fairytales Decorating; Venues – Claddagh Inn and Caribou Lodge; Hair and Makeup – Identity Salon and Spa; and Reception Music – The Punters and JNJ Sound.
And for something a little different, I asked Vanessa and Daniel to tell me how they felt on their wedding day (thanks for Vanessa and Daniel for sharing this!): It was the perfect day – starting with mimosa’s (girls) and mastering pocket square folding (guys). Enjoying the last moments leading up to our nuptuals by getting ready with our bridesmaids/groomsmen and families, Maria taking some relaxing photos and a little liquid courage-to cut the jitters!!
It really set in when I (Vanessa) arrived at the church. It’s when the nerves really kicked in. I don’t know who was more nervous, dad or I – but with arms linked, we carried on down the aisle, and once I locked eyes with my future husband, I knew all was right in the world!! The vows were great. Daniel did a good job of setting the mood, and taking the intensity off the moment, with a little glitch. We really are not formal- just two people so very much in love.
Living away certainly gives you the appreciation that having each other is sacred – we have built a home away from home together. So having the opportunity to profess that we will “love and honor” each other in front of our family and friends really has much more significance than words can express. Our day continued to be filled with happiness, tears of joy and tons of laughter! We feel so truly blessed!
Our reception gave us a chance to finally say “thank you” to everyone who worked so hard both front line and behind the scenes to make our wedding say the success it was. Our first dance, was a song that I (Daniel) had selected, and we were very fortunate to have the SPECTACULAR Larry Foley & Pat Moran sing it. We swayed across the dance floor, lost in each other’s eyes – this was one of the best moments of our wedding day.
